Education and Training:

1980-1984 Eastman School of Music: BM Violin Performance

Mary Page Block is well known in the area as a performer, teacher and composer. With over 20 years of experience in the Triangle she has a passion and proven gift for teaching violin.  Her students enjoy participating in local and school orchestras.  Her love of music and teaching helps create skilled musicians of all ages.

After completing her undergraduate studies in Violin Performance at the prestigious Eastman School of Music in Rochester NY, Mary moved to Raleigh in 1986 and began performing and teaching in the area.  She has played at the North Carolina Museum of Art for their series “Rembrandt to Rubens”, and has freelanced for the North Carolina Symphony, the NC Theater and many other professional groups in the area. In addition, she was a founding member, performer and composer with the Celtic music group Bragh Adair. They released two successful CDs and performed for sell-out crowds at Meymandi Concert Hall, Regency Amphitheater and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.   In addition to her teaching she also owns the company Arioso Strings which provides chamber music for weddings and events.
